Power Adhesives Tackfix 180 Polyolefin Hot Melt Flooring & Construction Adhesive

Power Adhesives Tackfix 180 hot melt adhesive is a polyolefin-based construction adhesive developed for tough yet flexible bonds across a wide variety of building materials. It bonds substrates including wood, concrete, metal, plastic, brick, fibre cement board, ceramic, stone and tiles, and is particularly suitable for flooring installation.

Tackfix 180 allows bonded materials to be repositioned for up to 3 minutes after adhesive application. Once the parts are pressed together, the adhesive sets within a few minutes to form a tough, highly flexible and shock-resistant bond. Its flexibility allows flooring materials to accommodate expansion and movement.

The adhesive is applied using a suitable TEC hot melt glue gun. Tackfix 180 requires no mixing, and in flooring applications it is applied to the underside of the flooring material so it does not affect the appearance of the finished surface.

According to the manufacturer, Tackfix 180 is non-toxic, offers high-temperature resistance and has an unlimited shelf life. Adhesive remaining in the glue gun can be used again when the applicator is next switched on.

Applications & Usage

Tackfix 180 flooring adhesive is suitable for installing flooring, carpet and bonding a wide variety of construction materials. Suitable substrates include wood, concrete, metal, plastic, brick, fibre cement board, ceramic, stone and tiles.

Apply the adhesive with a suitable hot melt glue gun. After application, the bonded materials can be repositioned for up to 3 minutes. Once correctly positioned, press the surfaces together and the adhesive will set within a few minutes.

For flooring installations, the adhesive is applied to the underside of the flooring material. The flexible finished bond allows natural expansion and movement of the flooring.
