Description
Specifications
Eurovent SYNTEX synthetic roof underlay is a four-layer roofing membrane designed primarily for installation beneath bitumen shingles, wooden shingles and natural roofing slate. With high watertightness and exceptional tear resistance, the membrane is suitable for ventilated pitched roofs, including fully boarded roof constructions.
Eurovent SYNTEX features a four-layer construction with special stabilising additives that improve UV resistance. The membrane provides mechanical durability during installation and helps protect roof structures against moisture from the external environment.
Unlike highly vapour-permeable roof membranes, SYNTEX has low water vapour permeability. Its Sd value is approximately 40 m, with water vapour permeability of approximately 1 g/m²/24 h. Therefore, on insulated roofs, a ventilation gap must be maintained between the membrane and thermal insulation in accordance with the roof design. The membrane must not be installed directly on mineral wool or glass wool insulation.
Eurovent SYNTEX roof membrane is suitable for both fully boarded and non-boarded roof structures. The final roof covering may be installed without battens and counter-battens, provided the selected roof covering's installation requirements are followed.
The membrane has an area weight of approximately 170 g/m², reaction to fire class E and a declared UV resistance of 6 months. The technical data separately specifies a UV exposure time of 4 weeks, which should be considered when planning installation of the final roof covering.
Each roll measures 1.22 × 50 m, providing 61 m² of membrane.

Applications & Usage
Eurovent SYNTEX roof underlay is used as an underlay for ventilated pitched roofs, particularly roofs covered with bitumen shingles, wooden shingles or natural slate.
Typical applications include:
-
Underlay for bitumen shingle roofs
-
Underlay for wooden shingle roofs
-
Underlay for slate roofs
-
Fully boarded pitched roofs
-
Non-boarded ventilated roof structures
-
Insulated pitched roofs with the required ventilation gap
-
Roofs with uninsulated attic spaces
-
New roof construction and renovation
Important installation requirement: Eurovent SYNTEX must not be installed directly on thermal insulation. On insulated roofs, a ventilation gap must be maintained between the membrane and mineral wool, glass wool or other thermal insulation in accordance with the roof design.
When installing bitumen shingles, wooden shingles or slate, follow the roof covering manufacturer's requirements for substrate preparation and fastening.
